Homeschooled

by Heaven Dimock

This is old. I had already finished homeschooling, so I had to finish the year at a real school, too. (I went to a real school for band, drama, and choir.)

This is my second year that I've been homeschooled with the Abeka DVD program. I'm a high school sophomore.

When I went to public schools, my grades were straight C's and D's. When I went to private schools, my grades were straight B's and C's. Now that I'm homeschooling and I can work on my own schedule, I'm a straight A student. I also go to my local high school for the 'fun' classes such as theatre arts, band, and choir. I'm also involved with soccer and my local community theatre. I still go to homecoming and stuff with my friends.

I love being able to sleep in until noon and finishing school within 1-3 hours. It's a little boring at times, and at times it gets stressful having my mom as my teacher, but it's definitely worth it. I'm learning so much more, and I don't have to deal with typical high school drama.

I feel like I'm more mature than people my age and I know that I'm going to get into a good college and have a nice life. There are times when I wish I went to a regular school, but I would rather be homeschooled.
