EuroRails

by Lona
(Holland, Michigan)

EuroRails is a game of strategy for older kids and adults. You need to plan well and spend your money building rail tracks into and out of cities. You can then move your train to pick up and drop off loads of freight to earn more money to build more track...

We found it at a new little game shop that's local to us. Their store is new and their website is newer: http://ootbgames.com/

Thank you, Lona!

This game sounds very similar to TransAmerica. Both games use the railway to get you cross-country, but one is across America and the other is across Europe. Either one would make for a fun way to learn geography! Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to play, though! One site I checked out recommended a playing time of 180 minutes. That's 3 hours! (TransAmerica's time is 30 minutes.)

I noticed that Out of the Box (ootbgames) does not yet sell online, but if you do a search for EuroRails, you will find a number of sites that carry it.

My children are only nine and eleven right now, but I am sure that when they get older this will be a game they will really love, and learn from! Thanks for putting it up :D
