Tator Tot Hot Dish!

by Jessica
(Georgia)

1TBS Extra virgin olive oil
1LB of ground hamburger or turkey
1 bag of tator tots
1 small onion
2 11oz cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 small bag of frozen mixed veggies or any vegetable of your choice
cheese (optional)

Preheat oven to 450F

I like to cook my tator tots for 15 minutes in the oven on 450F before I add them to the hot dish. So the hot dish is a lot less soggy! You don't have to. But, I would recommend to. I always get raves about my tator tot hot dish and a lot of people ask me how I make it without being soggy. So, that's my secret. :) Now it's up to you.

While you wait for the tator tots to cook, or if you're not cooking the tator tots, this would be your first step. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add onions cook until soft. About 3 minutes. Add hamburger and brown. Drain Fat. Mix in soup and vegetables.

Place half the tator tots down in the bottom of a casserole pan. Pour meat and vegetable mixture on top. Top with another layer of tator tots. Sprinkle casserole with cheese (optional) And bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool and serve.
