My Favourite Books!

by Eliza Claire
(London, England)

Here are some of my favourite books I loved when I was little:
1. The Magic Faraway Tree & the subsequent books. They took me to another world. I recently re-read them and they're fantastic books.
2. The Secret Seven
3. Heidi - I loved this book, I wanted to be Heidi!

I now read with my 3.5 year old every night, and he loves Peter Rabbit and other Beatrix Potter books. The language in them is superb, although I do have to explain some words to him.

Comment by Diane:

Shirley Temple brings the unique charm of Heidi to life in film. In fact, my daughter, Laura, liked her movie better than the book! (One of those rare cases where she actually liked the movie better.) But don't let that stop you from reading this classic. Make sure it's not a simplified edition.

Oh yes, we received as gifts The Great Big Treasury of Beatrix Potter and Beatrix Potter Original hardcover small book set with her original illustrations. They are treasured classics. Two of my children liked The Roly-Poly Pudding, one liked The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, and my other liked The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. Her illustrations complete the stories. Even I can still remember reading The Tale of Peter Rabbit as a kid! Join us in making them your favorites, too!

Great book choices NEW
by: Megan

My family also loves reading books by Beatrix Potter. Each story is delightfully different from the last and usually has some little lesson to be learned. I also recommend watching the movie Miss Potter if you have in interest in learning more about her life. The movie is captivating and everyone from small children to adults should enjoy it.
